Lent and Easter

Eggs. Chicks. Bunnies. Baskets. Chocolate. You don't have any of it if you don't have the resurrected Christ. Easter does not exist because of all that frilly stuff, but because exists only because of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Hence, during this time, we prepare (Lent) for the death and resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday morning.
